About the Classic

Over the last 10 years the Breast Cancer Golf Classic organized and hosted by the Albany/Capital Region Executive Women's Golf Association has raised over $254,000 for breast cancer research!

Breast Cancer is the leading killer of women age 35 to 54, and approximately 80 percent of those diagnosed with breast cancer have no known risk factors. All women, and even some men, are at risk. For this and many other reasons, the Albany/Capital Region EWGA continues to organize the Breast Cancer Golf Classic.

Funds raised from the 2008 Classic will go directly to women's centers in the Capital Region:

  • The Neil and Jane Golub Bellevue Breast Care Center
  • The Breast Care Center at Albany Medical Center
  • St. Peter's Breast Center
  • Northeastern NY Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For the Cure

This year Mohawk Golf Club will be hosting the tournament and banquet. In addition to playing an 18-hole round of golf on one of the regions premiere courses, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Win one of the several grand prizes in the Hole-in-One Contests
  • Bid on fabulous prizes in our silent auction
  • Enjoy snacks and gifts donated by our sponsors in the take home goodie bag
  • Bid on an array of fabulous items and travel packages in a silent auction, and
  • Maybe go home with some extra cash by winning the super drawing or the Pink Passion Contest!

Plus you'll enjoy a scrumptious banquet while our Mistress of Ceremonies, Benita Zahn, anchor/health reporter
News Channel 13 and Honorary Chairperson Jane Golub, Manager of Vendor Income Programs for Price Chopper recognize the tournament winners and announce prize winners.

The field is limited to 120 players so you'll want to mark your calendar now. Many players return year after year to enjoy the great golf and participate in what is becoming of the regions best charity events!
